Montes Ingeniería y Mantenimiento
“Engineering is family business”
Puebla, Mexico
Business with attractive and friendly web pages are more likely to obtain and retain clients.
Montes Ingeniería y Mantenimiento (English: Montes Engineering and Maintenance, MEM) is a family-owned engineering company which has worked nationally and internationally. However their contact is only through their facebook page, therefore getting new clients and contacting them is not easy, visible, nor enticing.
How can I help them build trust to their clients and showcase their work?
MY ROLE
Lead and solo design - User research, design, prototyping.
TEAM
Juan Montes - Member of MEM, Engineer
Aiz Montes - Member of MEM, Engineer
Olaff Montes - Member of MEM, Engineer
Patricia Lima - Member of MEM, Administrative
Sketching and Wireframing
My objective was to make engineering friendlier, flexible, and approachable.
I sketched and wireframed to emphasize the trust in a family model, showing their values and presenting the members.
The services, gallery projects and clients were mainly added to show the diversity and experience of MEM.
Style Guides
I used MEM logo to create the style guide.
I decided to create a color scheme based on the two colors of the logo and adding slight variations to work with a less-limited palette.
For the font guide I tried to use a similar one to the logo font. Also I included a serif typography to add variation, weight, and richness to titles and other highlights.
Components
I decided to work in interactive components that can be responsive and personalized to each page topic.
I chose to work with carousels to showcase specialities and projects. Each carousel was thought, designed and iterated to fit their topic.
Prototyping
I created a whole site that showcases a family-model business where the client can be part of a warm, trustful environment to develop their projects.
I designed interactive catalogues that encases MEM expertise and experience to spark clients’ interest and incorporates professionalism to the site.
Finally, I added a small form to get in contact with MEM, either to get a budget, collaboration or asking questions.
Final version and Interactions
After diving in the nuts and bolts of this project, glance the final version of a professional but still warm and familiar site of engineering, where the client is able to explore, get informed and contact the company.
I expect to keep iterating this prototype to provide MEM with updated, user focused experiences that could help them generate more revenue for their service.
